Macon, GA - Rebecca Cheng sealed an impressive rally for Wesleyan College with a straight sets win at number six singles as the Wolves concluded their season with a 6-3 win versus Maryville College.
Wesleyan trailed 2-1 after doubles but went on to dominate singles action, winning at five of the six positions. All five wins came in straight sets. Amber Davis joined her doubles partner Cheng by winning in both her matches on the day. Emilie Leveille earned her first collegiate win while Centara Nuff added her first victor of 2017. Laura Harness closes the year on a two-match individual win streak.
"Our match today vs Maryville was the culmanation of all the hard work our women have put in all year. They brought their A games and left it all out on the court.," said Wesleyan head coach Alex Kosicki. "Knowing how difficult a comeback would be, they pushed through, it was truly incredible to watch. From the first practice on the first day this year to now, their improvements have been nothing short of spectacular. I have consistently said how proud I am of this group and today showed why. This is a very special group that will continue to improve, on and off the court. I am beyond excited to continue this journey together for years to come as we look to make an impact in our new conference! Go Wolves!."
