Lookout Mountain, GA - The Wesleyan College soccer team fell to league leader Covenant College, 3-0, on Friday evening.

Notables:

  • After giving up a goal in the first minutes of the match, the Wolves played containment defense to limits the Scots shots on goal for the game.
  • Last year's leading goal scorer Taylor Johnson returned to the lineup for her first match this season and proved to be an impact player for the Wolves.

Quotable:

"Once again, we were limited due to injury, but the addition of Taylor Johnson to our lineup helped us shut down their speed on the outside," remarked Wesleyan head coach Paige Hightower. "Whitney Flanter did a great job man marking and keeping Covenant's top scorers to only one shot. I thought Q [Brandon] played her best game of the season on defense as well."
