Winston-Salem, NC - Still battling an extensive list of injuries, the Wesleyan College soccer team dropped their second match of the weekend on Sunday afternoon, falling to Salem College by a score of 6-0.

Notables:

  • Following an injury to Carlee Dykes, senior Alyssa Whitford played the second half of the match in goal for the Wolves, returning to the position she played two years ago.
  • Salem played 22 athletes and earned goals from five different players.

Quotable:

Wesleyan head coach Paige Hightower remarked, "We've been putting more focus on the midfield this year. We've struggled to stay tight defensively lately, but it finally came together today.  Salem got a few shots off, but we created obvious frustration within the Salem offense in the second half of the game. I couldn't be more proud of our back line finding their composure again."
