Demorest, GA - While Wesleyan College saw nine athletes play the full 90 minutes of Saturday's soccer match, Piedmont College utilized its full roster of 26 to dominate the Wolves by a score of 10-0.

Notables:

  • Wesleyan freshman Whitney Flanter managed the team's only shot on goal.
  • Freshman Carlee Dykes recorded nine saves in goal for the Wolves.
  • Eight different athletes scored in the win for the Lions with Shayna Healy and Samantha Ishee each scoring two to lead Piedmont.

Quotable:

Wesleyan head coach Paige Hightower remarked, "We did a fantastic job defensively early in the first half, but due to our lack of subs and ongoing injuries, we couldn't keep up. We had no subs after the first few minutes and played a man down the last half of the first period, while Piedmont played 26 players, all talented athletes. Despite the outcome, the girls have kept their heads up, supported each other, and maintained a postitive attitude through such a rough time, and for that, I am very proud of them."
