Wesleyan to Join USA South Conference in 2016

Fayetteville, NC - The USA South Athletic Conference is pleased to announce that Wesleyan College has been accepted to join the Conference as a full member. The Wolves, alongside Agnes Scott College and Salem College, will begin USA South play during the 2016-17 academic year. All three additions currently compete in the Great South Athletic Conference.

“We are thrilled to have been accepted as a member of the USA South,” stated Dr. Ruth Knox, President of Wesleyan College. “We have a lot in common with the institutions and look forward to being good members in a competitive conference.”

“We are delighted that Agnes Scott College, Salem College and Wesleyan College are going to be joining the USA South,” said Dr. Jennifer Braaten, President of Ferrum College and Chair, USA South Presidents Council. “They are the types of institutions we like to have in our Conference in terms of compatibility, competitiveness and their emphasis on values and academics.  We feel like there additions solidify the Conference’s strength and growth.”

“We proudly welcome Agnes Scott College, Salem College and Wesleyan College as members of the USA South,” stated Rita Wiggs, USA South Commissioner.  “They exemplify the pillars of the Division III and USA South philosophy of academic excellence, personal development, athletic competition and sportsmanship.  We look forward to their coaches and student-athletes competing in the USA South.”

Other members of the USA South include Averett University, Covenant College, Ferrum College, Greensboro College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Mary Baldwin College, Maryville College, Meredith College, Methodist University, North Carolina Wesleyan, Piedmont College and William Peace University.
