  • With under 2:00 to play in the game, Wesleyan trailed 57-55 before allowing the Lions to go on a 7-0 run to end the game.

"I am so proud of the way we fought today against Piedmont," remarked Wesleyan head coach Nicky DiMarzio. "They are one of the best teams in our region and not only were we competitive, we had a chance to win tonight. As a team, we shot extremely well from the free throw line and executed our game plan defensively. I've been waiting for this Wesleyan team to play to their potential, and we are almost there."
