Decatur, GA - Wesleyan and Agnes Scott traded blows for three quarters before the Scotties used a 26 point fourth quarter outburst to put the Wolves away in a 65-50 USA South matchup on Wednesday evening.

  • Sophomore Taylor Thigpen scored a game high 19 points, while her sister Justice stuffed the stat line once again with six points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a block.
  • Sophomore Lexie Russell recorded nine points, seven rebounds, and four blocks for the Wolves.
  • Agnes Scott's Garis Grant recorded a monster double-double with 19 points and 24 rebounds, helping the Scotties to a 58-36 advantage on the boards.

"We played extremely well in the first half and executed our defensive game plan perfectly," remarked Wesleyan head coach Nicky DiMarzio. "We knew their posts were capable of putting up big numbers and we did a good job of containing them for the first 20 minutes. Then down the stretch, we missed some easy buckets, they converted on a couple of buckets, and then we were forced to foul. They made 14-of-18 free throws in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach, but ultimately the score didn't reflect how well we played tonight."
