Montgomery, AL - After jumping out to a fast 16-3 start, Huntingdon College never looked back as they handed Wesleyan a 76-46 loss in USA South action on Sunday afternoon.

  • Senior Justice Thigpen scored a team high 17 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists to lead the Wolves offense. Sophomore Lexie Russell grabbed nine boards, and junior Kyla Williamson dished out four assists.
  • Huntingdon held Wesleyan to 24% shooting while knocking down 41% of their own shots with 13 Hawks scoring in the game.

"We played a very well coached Huntingdon team today and dug a deep hole early on," stated Wesleyan head coach Nicky DiMarzio. "The first half we struggled to get anything going offensively and gave up too many points in the paint. In the second half, our ladies responded well, but it was really too little too late."

"Justice played a tremendous game being our vocal leader on both ends of the floor as well as attacking the rim. She created in multiple ways today, getting to the free throw line and putting people in positions to score, but now we need for those shots to fall."
