Atlanta, GA -  The Wesleyan College basketball team couldn't get the ball to bounce their way on a tough shooting night and fell to Oglethorpe University on Tuesday night by a score of 92-29.

Notables:

  • Freshman guard Bree Raymond led the Wolves offensive effort, scoring 10 points in 19 minutes of play. She went 5-6 from the free throw line in the contest.
  • The Stormy Petrels used 64 rebounds to shoot an impressive 45% from the floor, while holding Wesleyan to just 18% shooting for the night.

Quotable:

"Oglethorpe is long, athletic, and a tremendous shooting team," remarked Wesleyan head coach Nicky DiMarzio. "We did a better job of executing our offense and having patience in our sets, but we just couldn't put the ball in the hoop tonight. We gave Oglethorpe too many easy buckets in transition, and they knocked down not only uncontested shots but tough, contested shots as well. The score really wasn't indicative of what we did tonight, but we still have an immense amount of room for improvement both individually and as a team."
