"We started a little tentative tonight and had a rocky first set, but we gained some momentum in the second set and performed much better in the third," stated Wesleyan head coach Caroline Carlton. "LaGrange is a large team with a deep bench, and we made them work for their points as the match went on."

"Our senior leadership was strong, and it was great to see our captains step up and bring everyone together. Our team has a lot of potential and we proved that tonight. We need to gain more confidence and comfort in our roles on the court. It was great playing at home in front of our fans and we look forward to hosting Fort Valley State and Toccoa Falls on Saturday."
