Macon, GA - In a back and forth seven inning match up, the Wesleyan College softball team came away with a 4-3 win over USA South foe Mary Baldwin on Saturday afternoon. In the day's second game, Mary Baldwin prevailed with a 7-0 win despite nine Wesleyan hits.

Notables:

  • In Game 1, Claire Crawford, Miriam Grant, and Quanetria Jackson each went 2-for-3 at the plate. Jackson hit a triple in the second inning, scoring three and giving Wesleyan a lead that it never surrendered.
  • Junior Victoria Clower had a 2-for-4 performance at the plate, driving in the final run of the game on a single to center field in the sixth inning.
  • Junior Valerie Clower picked up her second win of the season from the pitcher's circle.
  • In Game 2, Mary Baldwin jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back despite the Wolves pounding out nine hits. Wesleyan's Tiffani Linville, Victoria Clower and Miriam Grant each had two hits, but the Wolves stranded 10 runners over the course of the game.
