Statesboro, GA - Wesleyan’s hunt seat team traveled to Georgia Southern to open the spring season on Saturday, Feb. 4.
Senior Caroline Thompson started the Wolves off with a first place finish in the Novice division to put seven points on the board for Wesleyan. Freshman Ashlee Slack put in a third place ride in the Advanced walk/trot/canter division to add four more points to the Wesleyan scorecard, and senior Yuting Bai followed that performance with a second place finish of her own in the Walk/Trot division, adding five more points to the board.
The Wolves finished the day with 16 points. Freshman Catherenne Hogeland competed in the Advanced walk/trot/canter division and rode to a third place finish for an individual best during her first year of collegiate competition.
“All of our riders put in nice rides this weekend with many riders making huge improvements in their riding even if it wasn’t rewarded by the judges," remarked Wesleyan head coach Jessica Denniston. "I am proud to say that everyone rose to the challenges of the day and supported each other to some really great rides.”
The hunt seat team travels to Lander University on Saturday, February 18, for their next competition.
